“The twoness of twos”
“The provision for two-year-olds is carefully set up with familiar toys, similar to those the
children would see at home. Staff balance this with increasingly challenging activities,
often using natural resources such as wood and water, as children grow in confidence” OFSTED REPORT JAN 2020
Learning and play within the Bees class (The Hive) is always busy and fun! We recognise the unique needs of the Two year old and create a stimulating and engaging environment for them to explore.
The children are supported by adults with a ratio of 1:4 or 1:5 and have access to a smaller outdoor space as well as visits to the “big garden” for children who turn three.
We work along side an Early years practitioner who leads on WELCOMM for speech and language development.
We are able to offer Government funded places for two year old children. There is an Eligibility Criteria for the 2 year old education entitlement. This is 15 hours per week and will be offered either AM or PM or a Flex place and is term time only.
We also accept applications for 30 hours working families
Please use this site to check your eligibility https://www.beststartinlife.gov.uk/
Our Teacher works with other staff providing a suitable environment in which young children learn through a wide range of play activities.
Children accessing our 2 year old provision will be able to access their funded hours education entitlement the term after their second birthday if a place is available.
